If you are looking for a job or internship in fashion, beauty, or retail, it's imperative to exhaust all of your resources. Twitter is becoming a popular go-to destination for jobseekers looking for up-to-the-minute job listings. By following the timelines listed below, you are sure to stay on top of the rapidly changing job market.
Style Careers @StyleCareers -The official twitterfeed of StyleCareers.com, the site markets itself as "the largest, fashion-only job listing site on the Internet." This is my top pick for the all around best job search tool in the fashion industry, particularly for buyer & merchandiser roles.
Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising @FIDM_Careers -This is the twitter page for FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Career Center, a top notch fashion college in California. In addition to posting jobs, this feed also posts valuable job search tools such as interviewing tips and resume advice.
NY Fashion Jobs @nyfashionjobs -This is a site that lists only New York jobs. Lists fashion & retail jobs for professionals in marketing, advertising, sales, events, media, buying and PR.
ED 2010 @Ed2010News -A MUST follow if your goal is to become the next Anna Wintour. This timeline has tons of great listings for getting your foot in the door at various fashion mags.
NYC Retail Jobs @nyc_pur_jobs -Hosted by Yahoo! Hotjobs, this is a great timeline for retail jobs, mostly for sales associates, store managers, and other store level positions. There's also @atl_pur_jobs and @lax_pur_jobs (I still haven't figured out what pur stands for...)
Get Fashion Jobs @GetFashionJobs -A good source for fashion & retail jobs. I was able to find a few non-fashion jobs sprinkled in, so make sure you are specific when you start a search.
Happy tweeting!
