Andrea Fairweather is the owner of Fairweather Faces, Inc. a beauty company that specializes traveling beauty services. Most of her clients are busy, on-the-go professionals and it's Andrea's job to keep them looking beautiful from coast to coast.
Andrea recently spoke to ESSENCE.com about her new business venture. She created a line of make-up brushes to take the guesswork out of choosing the perfect tools for the perfect face.
"A lot of my clients would say 'I don’t know how to apply my makeup the way you do. I don't know how to use my brushes. I'm confused by them.' I couldn’t understand why they were having these questions when there are so many cosmetics lines out there. I automatically thought the answers were already there. Apparently not."
When Andrea started doing makeup professionally, she owned a whopping 250 makeup brushes! She realized that there were so many options for makeup artists but the expense and hassle of so many to use was a big waste of time and money. Reflecting on her experience helped her to create a dream set of brushes to not only help artists pare down their kits, but also to earn additional income for her business.
I love Andrea's story because she saw a void in her own business and took action to create a solution. A lot of businesses get started this way. Take a look at your own career. Is there something that would make your job easier or save your company money? Could a solution to that problem be your next business venture? Food for thought!
