ESSENCE magazine is hosting its inaugural Essence Empowerment Conference: A Day of Transformation in Chicago, IL on Friday, October 30, 2009. The Empowerment Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM. The ESSENCE Empowerment Conference will bring together renowned experts and change agents to address the challenges facing African American women impacted by our current economic climate.We are looking to recruit 30-35 volunteers to assist in various roles on Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30, 2009. The volunteer schedule is as follows: On Thursday, October 29, we hold an orientation, walk through and a conference preparation meeting from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM; on Friday, October 30 for the entire event, from 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM and we will provide lunch. It is requested that volunteers commit to ALL HOURS.
